Time Out

A Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story tells how the parents of a middle school girl have filed a $50,000 dollar claim against the local school district because she was traumatized by being put into "time out".  And we wonder why kids no longer have the respect demanded of us when we young.

Had I been put into "time out" in school, I certainly would not have told my mother.  If I had, I would likely have been in more trouble at home for whatever it is I had done.  Why is it that parents can't stomach the thought of a little discomfort and discipline?  We truly have become a society that is weak and listless.  It will be the disciplined children who have the advantage in the future.
