The Village Idiot

When Obama picked Biden to be his vice-presidential candidate I wondered what he was thinking. Now I think I know. On "This Week" yesterday he said that come November the Democrats would "shock the heck out of everybody." On the losses in the House and Senate he said, "I don't think the losses are going to be bad at all."

I now see the benefit of having a loose lip-flapping cannon on board. Whenever something that the majority of informed observers will think is stupid needs to be said, you can just send out the village idiot. The beauty of it is, he's none the wiser. Happy he has an opportunity to give his undervalued opinion.
