As if to prove the point I made yesterday about the Democrats' plan to run against George W. Bush instead of on their own merits, President Obama freshly criticized the previous administration again yesterday. I actually agree that some of the policies that Bush went along with did contribute to the mess we're in now. The difference between the President and me is that I can tell you which policies those were.

Notice in the coming weeks the complete lack of any specifics when it comes to these criticisms. They speak of the "disastrous policies" but fail to say which ones. Obama almost sounds specific when he says, "The policies that crashed the economy." Which policies did that? This is further proof this is just the latest collection of talking points from a group of people who have nothing of their own on which to stand.

It's almost laughable when Obama accuses Bush of "mortgaging our future." Really? And who has taken out the second, third and fourth mortgage on our future? But you won't hear that pointed out in the media.

The bottom line is that Obama and the rest of the Democrats know if they run on what they've done the last two years they'll be destroyed. They've already seen the evidence of that in the primaries and special elections. They are desperate for anything to stop the bleeding. They think going back to 2008 and running against George W. Bush is the answer. I doubt it.
