Awww

Real Clear Politics has a video from Fox News in which it is revealed that a Fox producer overheard Arlen Specter warning Orrin Hatch that they were "coming for you next". He specifically referenced Pat Toomey and The Club For Growth. I find it surprising he didn't bring up the tea parties. They then lament that Bob Bennet had been "savaged".

A word to Orrin Hatch: Specter is finally right about something. You are next. All of the so called conservatives who give lip service to smaller government and individual rights yet continue to grow the size of government and increase spending should be worried. The days of the free pass are over. It's time to practice what you preach or face defeat on election day.

Which brings me to that pretend conservative David Brooks and his outrage over Bob Bennet's loss:

"This is a damn outrage, to be honest. This is a guy who was a good senator and he was a good conservative who was trying to get things done."

Cry me a river, David. Bennett was no more a conservative than you are....and you aren't. The party's over. The inside-the-beltway political class is going to be sent packing all over this country in both parties. The people of the country have finally begun (and I emphasize just begun) to exercise their rights and responsibilities to make sure we have the right people representing us.

It's actually been very amusing to me to hear the media almost besides themselves in lament for the fallen senator. The same media types who hated him during the 90s when he almost had a backbone. Suddenly he's a great guy fallen victim to those rabid Tea Party types.

Don't be fooled. The media is terrified that their depiction of the Tea Party and like minded groups are fronts for racist radicals will fall apart and people will see them for who they really are. Average folks who have had enough. When the first big name to fall is an old, Republican white guy, it really kind of hurts the whole racist story line.
