A Leader

For the past couple of months, I've been watching the work of Governor Chris Christie in New Jersey. I honestly don't know that much about his position on a lot of issues but I do know that he is exhibiting the leadership qualities I've been writing about for several years now. It's not often I'm excited by what I read in The Hill, but today's story was inspiring.

Governor Christie has been slashing spending and pushing for tax cuts in the face of opposition on almost every front. He's not going for popularity but he is doing what needs to be done. My lament has often been we have politicians not leaders. Governor Christie, at least from what I have observed, is a leader.

He's my hero for today. I only wish there were more of our elected officials who were willing to get their hands dirty, take some lumps and lead.
